What I do with what you tell me.
Agrounded is a small, personally hosted stay at Casa Scaiola in the Langhe. Anthony Reid reads the applications and holds the details. This notice is written plainly rather than legally, and describes what actually happens.
What is collected
When you send an application, the site stores what you typed: your name, email address, where you are based, whether you would prefer a private or shared stay, your approximate timing, what brings you here, what would make the stay useful, and any practical note you add. It also stores the date and time, the page you arrived on, the site that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed.
A one-way fingerprint derived from your network address is stored so that the form can be protected from repeated automated submissions. It cannot be turned back into your address. Please do not send medical, health or other sensitive details in the form; if anything of that kind matters for a stay, we can talk about it directly.
Why
Only to read your application, reply to you and arrange a stay if it is right for both of us, and to understand roughly how people find the site. Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used to build a marketing list. You will not be added to a newsletter.
How long it is kept
Applications that do not lead to a stay are deleted once the conversation has clearly ended, and in any case within about twelve months. Where a stay goes ahead, I keep the correspondence for as long as we are in contact about it, and delete it on request.
Who else touches it
The site is built and hosted on Lovable, which also provides the database that stores applications and the email delivery that notifies me of a new one. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the weather and forecast figures on the Today page come from Open-Meteo and from the weather station at the house. Visit numbers are counted by the hosting platform’s own privacy-friendly analytics, which does not set advertising cookies or track you across other websites — which is why this site has no cookie banner.
Your choices
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or withdraw your application at any time. The quickest route is to reply to my email once we are in contact, or to send a short application saying so — the form is the private contact route for this site, so there is no public address to harvest.
What is said privately stays private. This notice describes practice, not a legal guarantee, and will be updated if the practice changes.
